Why Should the Brake and Clutch Lever Be Replaced?

Replacing the clutch and brake lever is not a difficult task. This article mainly describes the replacement of handles, brakes, motorcycle gear levers and clutch levers.

Reasons for Replacing the Brake and Clutch Lever

In general, the wear of motorcycle brake pads is affected by many objective factors, such as personal driving habits, normal road conditions, and frequency of brake use. This mainly depends on the wear and tear, there is no fixed mileage and time. Usually the brake pedal feels too low. After adjusting the brake lever screw, it is invalid. It is time to consider replacing it.

When replacing the brake pads of a motorcycle, you can replace the two brake pads if they are the same in terms of size.

The moment the brakes decelerate, the center of gravity will quickly shift to the motorcycle front wheel. At this time, the adhesion of the motorcycle rear wheel becomes smaller, and the corresponding front wheel increases. At this time, the front wheel grip is much higher than the rear wheel, causing the braking efficiency of the front brake to be much higher than that of the rear brake.

The main brakes of motorcycles are in the motorcycle front brake caliper. But if the operation is improper, it is very likely that the car will overturn. Because the speed of the car is relatively fast, the front brake is selected, and the front part of the weight of the car is tilted to the front of the car. The rear of the car is inherently lighter, so it is easy for the rear wheel to tilt up and cause it to roll over. This is a very dangerous operation.

When the motorcycle rear brake caliper brakes suddenly, the braking efficiency is not high, and because there is almost no grip on the rear wheel, it is easy to lock and swing the tail.

The pressure point of the brake should be moved by a constant heavy load, which can be compensated by adjustment. This is very important in emergency situations. The colors of levers and regulators can give people a different visual experience.

Replace the Manual Brake Lever

Before replacement, you have to prepare a fork triple clamp and the necessary tools. Nowadays, bolts or shrapnel are basically used to fix the brake pads. After disassembling the brake pads, check whether the wear of the brake pads is uniform. The uneven movement of the piston will cause abnormal wear of the brake pads. After removing the brake pads, clean all parts of the caliper.

The new brake lever is easy to insert and fasten with screws. The lever is adjustable in 6 directions. When replacing the manual brake lever, you must first remove the clutch cable, adjust the wheels or the rope hanging outside the engine to control the clutch itself.

Remove the old clutch lever after dissolving the screws. After cleaning the surrounding area, tighten the new clutch lever and tighten the screws with the newly greased bolts. Reconnect the rope and screw the clutch base to the handlebar. Adjust and test the rope after the clutch works normally.
