Sometimes, motorcycle may experience a decrease in battery storage capacity and an increase in oil viscosity, which is likely to cause seasonal faults for motorcycle. If the motorcycle is not in use for a long time in winter, the low temperature will also have a certain impact on the vehicle. 1. After cold engine is started, it is fully warmed up in the idle state, and motorcycle throttle cannot be preheated.

When the cold engine is started, motorcycle starter engine temperature is very low, the oil viscosity is high, and the fluidity is poor. It will aggravate the wear between parts, and the gasoline is not easy to vaporize due to the low engine temperature. At this time, more liquid gasoline enters the cylinder, which will dilute the lubricating oil film on the motorcycle cylinder wall and increase the wear.

2. Charge for the battery in time to avoid freezing.

When motorcycle lithium battery is deficient and the voltage is only 11.7 volts, it will freeze at 7-8 degree below zero and be scrapped. But when motorcycle battery storage is full and the voltage is 12.67 volts, it will freeze at -68°C. Therefore, if the battery is fully charged, it will not freeze and be scrapped in cold areas. In winter, especially in cold areas, it is necessary to charge the battery in time to prevent the battery from losing power and avoid the battery from freezing.

3. In cold areas, winter motor oil should be used for motorcycles.

Generally, the viscosity grade of motorcycle motor oil is 10W-30 or 10W-40, which is suitable for ambient temperature above -20℃. However, in some cold winter areas such as the Northeast, the temperature is mostly lower than -20℃. At this time, winter motor oil with a viscosity grade of 5W-30 should be used for motorcycle in order to resist to the low temperature above -30℃.

4. In cold areas, the motorcycle should be stored in a warm room as much as possible.

The temperature and motorcycle battery capacity have a certain linear relationship. The lower the temperature is, the more likely the battery will lose power. At this time, the number of normal electric starts of the motorcycle will be reduced accordingly, or even unable to start. Therefore, motorcycles in cold winter areas should be placed in a place with a warm temperature, such as a heated room.

5. When driving on icy and snowy roads, you had better to properly reduce the tire pressure.

If the road is icy or covered with snow, motorbike two tires will easily slip and lose control. If you are driving under such road conditions, you can properly deflate two bike tires to lower motorcycle tire pressure. In this way, motorcycle can increase the tire's grip area, and reduce slippage.
