Knowledge about Motorcycle Basic Controls

If you are a motorcycle rider, you must know some basic knowledge of motorcycle such as foot controls, handlebar controls etc. Of course, there are some motorcycle accessories such as motorcycle rain goggles, external radio speaker and so on. Motorcycle lights

We know that motorcycle lights are devices used to illuminate and emit light signals. Its function is to provide various illumination lights for motorcycle driving and other vehicles contour position and steering direction of the vehicle, so that drivers can ensure the driving safety of the vehicle. Motorcycle lights include motorcycle turn signals, motorcycle led lights, headlights, brake lights, rear position lights, rear license plate lights, reflectors etc.

Motorcycle headlights are found in the front of the vehicle and the role is to illuminate the road in front of the vehicle. The headlight consists of lampshade, housing, reflector, bulb, lamp holder, dust cover, light adjustment screw, and wiring harness. Usually the material is polycarbonate. The shapes of the headlights are round, square and irregular, and it is divided into two kinds, single lamp and double lamp, and the light color is white or warm light.

Turn signal is a lamp used to indicate to other vehicles and pedestrians that the vehicle will turn left or right. There are 4 turn signals on the front, rear, left and right of the motorcycle, and the light color is generally amber.

Brake light is to indicate vehicles and pedestrians behind the motorcycle, and remind the vehicles coming behind to pay attention to safety.

Foot controls

Usually foot controls include gear selector, kick start lever, rear brake pedal and so on.

The placement of gear selector is in front of the left foot rest. The role is to change gears and the clutch to make the engine power of vehicle match with the speeds of motorcycle you are riding.

In front of right food rest, you can find motorcycle rear brake pedal. The function is for operating the rear brake of motorbike.

Kick start lever is located above the foot peg. When you start your vehicle, you must push it down hardly and get the piston moving, and then the engine can be fired up.

Handle controls

In general, handlebar controls includes engine cut out switch, electric starter, motorbike front brake lever and accelerator. Engine cut out switch is a red button located at right next to the right handlebars. On the right handlebar, you may find front brake lever and a button which is electric starter and used to start the vehicle. The placement of motorcycle accelerator is on right handle, using it to control the engine speeds.

Electrical appliances

The electrical wiring of motorcycle is basically similar to that of a car. The electrical circuit is divided into power supply, ignition, lighting, instrumentation and audio. The power supply is generally composed of an alternator, rectifier, and motorcycle lithium battery. And there are three ignition methods for motorcycles: battery ignition system, magneto ignition system and transistor ignition system.
